Facing another day

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8

This is the hardest part. I wake up and go to the window, hoping the landscape of my circumstance has varied. I watch for bluebirds and signs of forgotten flowers rising to greet the sun. but the land is barren. Reminders of a better day lie dormant against lattice and along the fence. That fence went up to define a good space. Now it is a reminder of limitations, boundaries, restrictions.
